THE
Puppet
workshop
Every puppet has a story, the question is, where does yours begin?
'Wearable'

This workshop is an invitation to imagine, make, and play.
Using recycled materials, you'll create a wearable puppet that grows from an idea, a memory, a feeling, or a question. As you make, your puppet gradually reveals its own personality, becoming more than an object—it becomes a character with its own presence, movement, and voice.
The journey begins with simple creative explorations using drawing, collage, writing, and conversation.
There is no pressure to be an artist or performer. Instead, you'll be encouraged to follow your curiosity and allow ideas to unfold naturally.
Through this process, the puppet begins to emerge, shaped by imagination as much as by the materials in your hands.

You'll then learn how to build an expressive puppet head, discovering techniques that give it life through movement and expression. This will then be attached to a ready-made wearable body, allowing you to focus on developing your character and bringing it to life.
Once your puppet is complete, you'll step into its world.
What is it searching for?
What does it discover?
How does it move?
What happens when it encounters something unexpected?
Through playful improvisation and guided performance, you'll explore these questions, allowing stories to develop through movement, gesture, voice, or silence. Each puppet responds differently, making every performance unique.
This workshop celebrates imagination, sustainability, and the joy of making. It offers space to experiment, collaborate, and see familiar materials transformed into expressive works of art. It is equally suited to complete beginners, experienced makers, performers, educators, and anyone curious about the creative process.
The session ends with an informal sharing of the puppets and performances, followed by a conversation reflecting on the experience and and celebrating the remarkable characters that have emerged.
Come with an open mind, leave with a puppet that carries a story that only you could tell!
